Travel Directions By Car, Rail & Air

Travelling to the Bournemouth International Centre by Road

From London:
Take the M25, then the M3, M27 and A31 to Ringwood. From Ringwood, follow the A338 (Wessex Way), to the Bournemouth West Roundabout.

From The Bournemouth West Roundabout:
Take the first exit and follow the brown signs to the BIC. The BIC multi-storey car park is off the roundabout at the bottom of Priory Road.

From the North and West:
Head for the A31 / A338 junction (Ashley Heath) just outside Ringwood, taking the A338 (Wessex Way) to Bournemouth. Then follow the directions from the Bournemouth West Roundabout

Travelling by Air and Rail

Bournemouth International Airport is 10 minutes from the town centre via the A338 (Wessex Way). Thomson Fly, Ryanair and Easyjet fly to and from numerous European locations, visit their websites for further information.

A taxi to the town centre from Bournemouth Airport costs approximately £15.

Bournemouth is served by 2 trains an hour from London Waterloo; the journey time is around 2 hours, visit the South West Trains website for timetable information. Main line links to the North and Scotland arrive at Bournemouth Railway Station visit the Virgin Trains website for timetable information.

Bournemouth Station is a 10 minute taxi ride from the Bournemouth International Centre.

Registration Desk

Bournemouth International Centre, Purbeck Foyer Entrance
On arrival at the Bournemouth International Centre please make your way to the WCET Registration Desk. The registration desk will be located in the Purbeck Foyer entrance of the BIC. Please note there are two entrances to the BIC, The Purbeck Foyer entrance is not the main entry point and can be accessed via its own seafront entrance on the West Cliff side.

You will be given your conference badge (which you should wear at all times), delegate bag and conference materials and a ticket for the Welcome Reception and Conference Dinner if this has been pre-booked.

Registration will be open at the following times:

Tuesday 28th September 07.30hrs – 17.30hrs
Wednesday 29th September 08.00hrs – 13.30hrs


Exhibition

Purbeck Hall, Bournemouth International Centre
In order to keep registration fees to a minimum, it is important that we have the support of commercial organisations at the meeting. Please make time to visit the stands and meet the company representatives.

The Exhibition will be located in the Purbeck Hall and the opening times are as follows:

Tuesday 28th September 09.00hrs – 17.30hrs
Wednesday 29th September 09.00hrs – 13.30hrs

Purbeck Hall, Bournemouth International Centre

This year’s Welcome Reception will be held in the exhibition area of the Bournemouth International Centre, The Purbeck Hall, where you can visit the exhibition stands and meet with friends old and new. Drinks/canapés will be served and the rest of the evening is free for your own dinner plans so you have the chance to enjoy the sights and sounds of this stunning seaside town.

Conference Dinner - 19.30-00.00
The Pavilion, Westover Road, Bournemouth, BH1 2BU
Full of character, the Pavilion Ballroom provides an elegant 1920s backdrop to the pre dinner drinks, followed by a three course dinner. The theme for this year’s event is Beach Party and we encourage you to join us dressed in summer party wear. Only delegates who have pre-booked a place at the dinner will be given a ticket when they pick up their registration envelope. If you have a ticket for the dinner and you no longer plan on attending we would greatly appreciate if you could hand this back to the registration desk. The Pavilion is approximately a 5 minute walk from the conference venue.

Table Plan
A blank table plan for the Conference Dinner will be located beside the registration desk. If you have pre registered for the Dinner your name will be on the notice board, please allocate yourself to a table. If your name is not listed please come and see us at the registration desk.


Posters

Purbeck Hall, Bournemouth International Centre
Posters can be displayed from 16.00hrs on Monday 27th September and can be removed from 13.30hrs on Wednesday 29th September. The posters will be displayed in the exhibition area.

Authors are reminded that the dimensions of the board are 1m wide x 2.00m high. It is recommended that displays do not exceed 1.5m in length. A supply of Velcro tabs will be available at the venue. No screws or double-sided adhesive tape will be allowed as they damage the boards.


Speaker Preview

Purbeck Bar, Bournemouth International Centre
Please aim to check in your presentation (USB, CD or Zip disc) at least four hours prior to your talk (where possible). It is not necessary to bring your own PC.

Speaker Preview will be open during the same hours as the Registration Desk.

NB If there are movie clips included in your presentation you must bring the original movie files as well.


General Information

Message Board
A message board will be located beside the Registration Desk during the conference and you are encouraged to check it regularly.

WI-FI
A Wireless Internet System is available in the BIC. The system is operated by IFB Ltd and internet connection is available to rent from IFB Ltd. Connection can either be made immediately by viewing their website www.wifb.net and making payment with a credit or debit card at the time or by pre-arrangement by calling 0845 270 2101 for Sales or 0845 270 2100 for Support. An Internet Café facility can also be arranged by IFB Ltd, again by pre-arrangement on the aforementioned phone number. Please contact IFB Ltd direct for more information.

Photo Opportunities
There will be a photographer at the Welcome Reception and Conference Dinner, kindly supplied by Hollister. The pictures taken will be available for viewing at Hollister’s stand.

Please note there is parking available at the Bournemouth International Centre, it is at a cost of approx £12 per day
